Coconut seller

I take care of a fish hatchery sometimes and run this coconut business. Besides this, I am trying to run a small tea shop too. My goal is to make my business bigger so that I can support my family more. One of my daughters studies in college and two other children are in school.

I finished my higher secondary education in college and then I started working in the wood industry. and besides that, I had a small grocery shop. My business was going well but I decided to start a new one of transportation. So I bought a Jeep which was used to transport groceries for different businesses. I was doing that business quite well. I continued that for 6 years besides my wood business. But unfortunately, my wood business went wrong and I lost a lot of money.

So I started a small tea shop again which wasn't running well here near the marine drive. In 2017, a lot of people were stopping by my shop to drink tea and I put some coconuts for them too. In a week I realized that all the coconuts were sold and people were asking for more. It's because people going to the Rohingya Camp were thirsty after work and they stop by my shop for coconuts. I started putting more coconuts in front of my shop and they're getting sold instantly. So in 2018, I decided to dedicate my time to a proper coconut business. I started collecting coconuts from many different persons and gardens for my customers. I used to sell 1200-1500 coconuts a day in 2018 -2020. The income was pretty amazing which was a lot more than the other businesses I ran before. In 2020 there were some diseases in coconut trees around the country so the production wasn't going well. I couldn't cope with the customer's request for coconuts. But by the grace of Almighty Allah, I started collecting good amounts of coconuts again. Nowadays I started selling a good amount of coconuts again.

My plan for the future is to grow my business and start new things. I am planning for a small restaurant of Bangla dishes - Mohammad Abu Musa - 44 - Coconut seller
